This Weeks Local Business Spotlight

Law-N-Order Lawn Maintenance

This week’s spot of the week is Law-N-Order Lawn Maintenance. With summer weather finally arriving, this local lawn care company is busy helping homeowners across Guelph get their yards back into shape. From lawn cutting and spring cleanups to hedge trimming and general yard maintenance, it’s a timely local service as people get their outdoor spaces ready for the season. If your lawn could use a little help after the long winter, they’re worth checking out this week. Take a look at their website or Instagram here.

Spot of the Week

This week’s spot of the week is Puffle Cafe. Tucked away on the north end of Guelph, this café has quietly become a local favourite for its unique puffles, desserts, drinks, and cozy atmosphere. It’s a great spot to switch things up from the usual coffee run, especially with warmer weather and weekend outings picking up around the city. Whether you’re grabbing a sweet treat or just looking for a lesser-known local gem to try, Puffle Cafe is definitely worth checking out this week. Take a look at their Instagram here.

Around Guelph This Week

  • Downtown traffic changes are here — St. George’s Square is being reconfigured, with traffic lights removed and stop signs added as downtown construction continues.

  • Wyndham and Wellington lanes reduced — Starting around May 28, lanes at Wyndham Street South and Wellington Street East will be reduced during construction. Several Guelph Transit routes may also be detoured.

  • More roadwork starts June 1 — Paving begins on parts of Inverness Drive, Islington Avenue, and Glenbrook Drive, with lane reductions expected for several weeks.

  • Big transit facility breaks ground — The City is holding a groundbreaking for the new Guelph Transit and Fleet Services facility near Watson Parkway South and Stone Road East on May 29.

  • New park plans need feedback — The City is asking residents to weigh in on designs for the future Sloan Hill Park on Beaumont Crescent. The survey is open until June 17.

  • Outdoor watering rules are active — Guelph is currently at Level 0 – blue, meaning odd and even addresses water on assigned days during permitted morning and evening windows.
