Spot of the Week
This week’s Spot of the Week is Strom’s Farm & Bakery, a fall favourite at 5089 Wellington Road 32. With Halloween around the corner, it’s the perfect time to grab homemade butter tarts, pumpkin pies, warm pumpkin-spice mini donuts and other freshly baked treats. Visitors can also browse pumpkins, explore the corn maze or enjoy seasonal activities before October ends. Best of all, you can visit the bakery and farm market without paying admission! Check them out here.
Around Guelph This Week
Guelph votes for a new mayor Monday — Election Day is Oct. 26, with polls open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Nearly 10,000 residents have already voted early. Transit to and from polling locations will be free.
Historic downtown church sells for $1.8M — Knox Presbyterian Church on Quebec Street has been sold to a private investor. The new owner says there are no plans to demolish the 159-year-old building.
Netflix series filming in downtown Guelph — Season two of Finding Her Edge will film inside Jimmy Jazz on Macdonell Street on Oct. 27, with production vehicles and temporary sidewalk restrictions expected.
Guelph Storm win nine straight games — The Storm have extended their winning streak to nine games, continuing an impressive start to the OHL season.
